The Ottawa Professional Fire Fighters Association has been organizing Ottawa’s downtown holiday parade since 1969. Initially started by business leaders in 1968, the Association took over operations a year after its first. From the outset, the Association has been committed to bringing joy to the children of the City of Ottawa regardless of their circumstances.
The parade is funded by the generosity of our dedicated sponsors, allowing 100% of what is collected by firefighters from the public to go towards Toy Mountain. Toys are collected on the parade route as well as at all fire stations around the City of Ottawa.
Toy Mountain, which is administrated by the Salvation Army, distributes toys to families who might not otherwise be able to afford toys during the holiday season.
